Weekly Bulletin
March 8 - 12
Religion . *We will begin to study Chapter 10. The children will learn that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to his followers after his death and resurection. Language Arts
* Reading *Check your child's weekly bulletin in the blue folder. * Grammar
* There will be a grammer test on nouns on Wednesday, March 10th
* Spelling * Our spelling test will be on Thursday, March 4th. Please check your child's speling list. The best way to help your child study for his or her spelling test is to say each word and have your child write each word correctly on paper without looking at the spelling of the word.
*Writing
*The children will write in their journals. They will complete writing assignments in class.
*Penmanship
* The children will continue to practice manuscript by completing assigned pages in their penmanship book.
Math
*Check your child's weekly bulletin in the blue folder. The children will have weekly tests every Thursday on addition and subtraction facts. This week the test will be on addition facts up to 11. Please have your child practice at home. You can use flash cards, computer programs or math website games. You can also use Math games. The children must complete the test with out using their number lines.
Science
*We will continue to study Chapter 5, Our Earth. Our focus this week will be on bodies of water and erosion.
*Science Vocabulary: mountain, hill, valley, plain, beach. stream, river, lake, ocean, flood, drought, erosion Social Studies
* This week the children will finish studying Unit 2.
*Social Studies vocabulary - law, community, leader, mayor, city, governor, government, country, state, border,President, vote, ballot, flag, fiction, nonfiction, fact, citizen, right, responsibility

*In School Field Trip on March 23rd and April 20th. Payment and permission form due March 10th.
*Testing Schedule Tuesday - Religion and Social Studies Wednesday - Science and Grammar Thursday - Spelling and Math * Reading Tests Reading tests will be scheduled according to the childrens' progress. Please check the weekly bulletin in your child's blue folder.
