    March Newsletter

    Dear Parents: Thank you to everyone who helped with the Fat Tuesday celebration. The Kings cakes were delicious and our tables looked great with the green and purple plates along with the napkins and cups. The children also enjoyed the juices and the chips. Thank you for your generosity! Themes for March. Lent continues to be part of our theme. The children are working on their Lenten offering, it will be completed before the Easter break.

    First two weeks the units will be about Insects and their habitat.

    Wednesday, March 17th, the children will hear the story about St. Patrick the patron of Ireland. We will have a small celebration and lots of green around the classroom, many activities will be posted around the classroom as well as outside our room.

    The 3rd and 4th week of the month, the units will be about spring, flowers and what a beautiful time of the year.



    Concept Board: Introduce #16, 17, and 18. Shapes: Shamrock. As part of math concepts, some of the children will begin to add and subtract. Our monthly Graph: My favorite Insect is…... Colors: Green and Purple

    Language: The letters for this month are: T, U, V, W. Rhymes and beginning sounds continue as well as onset and rime, compound words and syllables.

    Computers: Starfall, Sprout and PBS.com, along with educational games

    Nursery Rhyme: Little Ms. Muffet.

    Our Easter party will be on Thursday, March 25th at lunch time. We will be joined by EC3 and KG. The list with the items assigned to each child will be sent home this Wednesday. The buddies will meet us for the egg hunt and will do as in previous years, hide the eggs and help the children find them. The egg hunt will be that afternoon at 2: oo p.m. Please send and Easter basket with your child and 1 dozen plastic eggs filled with candy.
