Happy New Year to All!
Themes:
Winter: Children will learn about the season, dress properly for the season and trying to stay healthy during the winter months. Artic Animals: is the second unit for January. The children will be learning about animals that live in the artic; their habitat and how they survive in that kind of weather. Our center board will show the following: Color: white and black and if these colors are mixed, what color comes out. Shape: diamond. Opposites: More and Fewer. Nursery Rhyme: Georgie Porgie. Letters for this month: Nn, Oo, Pp, beginning sounds continue as well as syllables, compound words and on-set and rimes. This month the children will begin writing their last name too.
Math: Numbers recognition 11, 12, 13. The children will be practicing how to write numbers1-10. One on one correspondence, sequencing and patterns will continue and naming 3d geometric figures and positional numbers.
Dates to Remember:
Jan. 3rd-Classes resume Jan. 5th- Ec progress report will go home. Jan. 16th-No school in honor of Dr. MLK's birthday Jan. 29th- Catholic School Week begins. It will end on Feb. 3rd. Many activities will be planned for that week and we will let you know at a later day.
